  Thats good news man. Ive read your threads about life on the streets and Im glad youve got a shot at regular life again. Everytime I read about you in the doss house with the winos and druggies I would think of Der Feuhrer. Adolf started off on the streets, Im sure you know. And you look like him ...a bit, in your pic.

  How Much is Personal Responsibility vs WTS' Fault?

  the current discussion of an ex-gb member has prompted me to ponder this question:.

  just how much of our personal circumstances can/do we take responsibility for, and how much do we blame the wts?

  you may have grown up as a jw, coerced into leaving early to pioneer, not go to university, have no kids, even stay single for the pursuit of singleness in the kingdom work to pioneer or go to bethel.

  Now its true that have no formal education, and I would dearly loved to go to University. And Its true I only have one son, and wished I had another, and its true that the WT teachings, are in many ways responsible for those results in my life. But being nitter and hating the WT isnt going to change anything. You might as well blame Eisenhower because your son got killed in the world war 2.

  I was born into a cult scenario....Oh what a curse! And what an amazing first 35 years of my life I had because of it. I view it as a test from God seeing if I will accept responsibility, even of that.

  good question sis.

  The sooner everyone accepts FULL responsibility, stops blame shifting, and forgets about what the WT did the better. For them. If you keep reliving and replaying incidents in your mind it only reinforces them.It doesnt eradicate them. The only way to eradicate them is to accept, suck them up inside you, and move on. Burn the WT books, dont keep reading them. You keep blaming someone else for what happened ( even if they WERE responsible) ...only drains your personal power.

  Well theres a tendancy to completely overthrow the king once hes dead and tear down all the monuments he built. Surely CT Russell is no more than a symbol on pages of a magazine now. Noone knows what he actually SAID, and the masses cant be allowed to read what he taught because it contradicts current theology. And we all know that the "truth" never changes. Right? I think Rutherford was an arrogant autocratic pig. Not an image they want of one of their past leaders, so they are down playing him. Youll notice they never mention Knorr. Thats because hes not a historical problem. They only mes around with the histories of the ones that are a "problem".

  "problem" = Reality contradicts Officially sanctioned history

  i discussed the issues island woman raised regarding ray franz, ewart chitty, leo greenlees, how this relates to supporting silentlambs, or how right or wrong bill bowen may be.. .

  ray franz stated again, as he did in his earleir post through me, and previous conversations with me, that he has never dealt with any issue regarding pedophilia among jws.

  Even if RFranz does know some sordid details about the activities of former GB members, so what? Why does that equate that he is obliged to rat them out publicly? I myself have knowledge of crimes committed years ago by persons, and doubtless many here know of some break and enter robbery a family member committed, or an assault in a bar years ago,but they dont feel bound to go confess and dob to the law. RF is under no obligations even if he does no something. And hes said he doesnt know anything. What else is there to be said? I love it that he is condemned by some who are prone to hysteria, obsession and moralistic judgement because he is "silent" on matters. perhaps the poor old sod just wants a bit of peace.

  i have my reasons for not saying much on this thread and i really think the warning was put out there and it is up to you to trust jes,,,,,,,,someone you have known a long damn time, or someone who has already been deceptive.

  i don't want to say anymore,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, my reasons are very important to me and there may be some that may want to pm me about this , if i feel i can trust them , i will answer questions.

  i will not answer some questions on this thread to protect a poster here whom i dont want to hurt , she is a sweet lady and he knows her well, i don't think she knows he is even on this forum.. you all know me,,,,,,,,,,, you know jes,,,,,,,,,,there is more to it than you think.

  Amazingly I dont remember having any realization of what this article actually meant when reading it when it came out. It was just another sign that the organization was perfecting and becoming more theocratic. It was swallowed up in the general expectations regarding 1975. I can only recall people being wild eyed and in a fever at the important revelations forthcoming immediately prior to the 1975 Armaggedon.
